What a difference a week can make! Our temperatures started warming up midweek and rose into the 70s or possibly 80s over the weekend. What snow we had has virtually disappeared in most places. Gophers, birds, and other wildlife are out and about, and even some possible mosquitoes were spotted already. We hope you are enjoying the warmer temperatures!

The Strasburg Senior Citizens held their monthly meeting on April 23 with 18 members present. There were noApril birthdays. The cooks were Rose Wald and Kathryn Selzler.

Kevin Payne of Aberdeen, S.D., spent the weekend at Betty Payne’s.

Saturday evening, April 20, Arlin and Carol Int Veldt attended the Celebration of Life Open House for Wanda Fiechtner.

Sunday evening guests of Arlin and Carol Int Veldt were Dennis and Marlyn Van Boven and Esther Van Boven of Bismarck.

On Saturday, April 27, the Strasburg Public School north gym was full with families and friends gathered to watch the Strasburg-Zeeland Grand March for the Prom.About 35 couples promenaded down the decorated walkway and enjoyed the dance chaperoned by Brian and Nicole Grove, Loren and Andrea Vander Vorst and Josh Keller. Parents of the students put on a post-prom party afterward. Thanks to area businesses for their donations to make this night extra special for these students.

Sylvia Ryan returned to Collierville, Tenn., on Friday after spending a week visiting her father, the Rev. Arvin Roos. Ray and Chris Nieuwsma visited Sylvia and Arv on Thursday evening to say goodbye to Sylvia.

The Strasburg Care Center volunteers had their monthly meeting on Monday,April 22, with 10 members present. A delicious lunch was served and members were honored for National Volunteer Week. Thank you to the Care Center activity staff for all they do for the residents and the volunteers!
