Last Week - We had snowy weather over the weekend but only received a few inches here.

Our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Augusta Roos who passed away on March 19th. Her funeral was held on Friday, March 22, at the Strasburg Reformed Church with the Rev. Floyd Haan officiating. All of Rev. Arvin andAugusta’s children were here for the funeral including Sylvia and Randy Ryan, Collierville, Tenn., their sons Chris and Suzanne Ryan and Matt Ryan, Judy Carter and daughter Sally (Andrea had to return home before the funeral), Newhall, Calif., Robert and Terry Roos, Richfield, Minn., and their son Dylan and Nina Hicks and Jackson, and Arnold Roos, Minneapolis, Minn. Most of the relatives left on Saturday, with the last few leaving on Tuesday.

Among others coming for the funeral were Jill (Benjamin) Scheirer and children, Bismarck, and Sarah and Roy Brooks and children.

This Week - Easter weekend began with warmer temperatures than we’ve had for quite some time, with temperatures in the 50s or higher on Saturday, but much chillier on Sunday.

Many homes had company this weekend, with some hosting guests here while others traveled to be with family or friends elsewhere.

Arlin and Carol Int Veldt were Easter guests of Brian and Shelly Bauske, Mandan. They attended the Easter service at First Lutheran Church at Mandan. Joining them for dinner were their granddaughters, Jessica and Geoff Anderson, and Kayla Bauske, Fargo,Tiffany Int Veldt, Bismarck, and other Bauske relatives. Later afternoon guests were friends Jason, Liz, and family.

Coming home for Easter at the Ray and Chris Nieuwsma residence were their daughters and families, Jill and Benjamin Scheirer, Aaron, andAnnelie, Bismarck, Sarah Brooks and Niema, Zachery, and Zoe Brooks, Carson, and their son Darin Nieuwsma, Minot. They all arrived Saturday afternoon and returned home Sunday afternoon and evening.

The Strasburg Senior Center had their meeting on March 26 with 16 members present. The cooks were Roseabelle Volk and Victoria Voller. Those honored for their birthdays were Rose Wald, Maggie Krumm, Hermina Jochim. and Eugenia Rohrich.

Kevin Payne, Aberdeen, S.D., and Cheryl and Elmer Brandner of Linton, had dinner at Betty Payne’s Saturday and Sunday.

Bill and Mae Bosch’s boys were home for the Easter weekend. Bill Jr. came from Fargo and Kelly and Nickie and son Eli traveled from Hawley, Minn. They all went to Laura and Don Eberle’s for Easter dinner and were joined there by Don and Lonna Tougas and family. Laura and Don’s daughters Kristin and husband Sean and daughter Julianne were home for Easter as well.

Amy Tougas, Tanner, and Tali, came to spend the Easter weekend withAmy’s parents, Gary and Judy Keller.

Spending the Easter holiday at the Barry and Cheryl Baumgartner (and Katie) residence were their children, Carrie, Fargo, Alicia Fladeland and son Samuel, Mark, Bismarck, and friend Paige. They had dinner together Saturday evening. Alicia and Sam returned Saturday evening and Carrie returned to Fargo after Sunday mass.
