After a mild, sunny day in the 40s on Saturday, the wind picked up on Sunday and rain started falling in the evening. Rain is predicted to turn into snow overnight with over a foot of snow possible in the northern part of the state and elsewhere, with lesser amounts expected down here. Hopefully travelers will be prepared for changing conditions in their area.

Felix, Arvetta, and Tyler Krumm of Oakes visited at Delma Dyk’s on Saturday. They came for Maggie Krumm’s birthday.

Violet and Jim Ryckman and Jenny Ryckman visited Margaret Geigle recently. This past weekend, Elaine Speten and Shirley Schaffner came to visit. Albert Geigle’s nieces from Mobridge, S.D., also came to visit, Marlene Ritter and Fern Myrtle. Their dad was Albert’s brother.

Robert and Terry Roos of Richfield, Minn., and Sylvia Ryan of Tennessee came to visit their parents, the Rev. Arvin and Augusta Roos for several days.

The Strasburg Community Choir continues to practice for their upcoming concerts. They will be performing on March 17 at 2 p.m. at the Strasburg Care Center, at 7:30 that evening at the Hope Reformed Church in Westfield, and on Palm Sunday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Sts. Peter &Paul Catholic Church. Kellie Wikenheiser is the director and Chris Nieuwsma the accompanist. Save one of these dates on your calendar! Everyone is welcome.

Congratulations to the Strasburg Clippers for their hard work at Regionals in Jamestown last week! They came in 4th in the Regional Tournament. Hats off to their coach, Brent Kleinsasser, who won Region 3 Coach of the Year. LaMoure-Litchville Marion beat South Border (Ashley-Wishek) to win the tournament and Linton took 3rd place in their game against Strasburg. The Boys’’Class B state tournament will held in Minot March 7, 8, & 9. Girls’ Basketball finished their district tournament in Wishek on Monday, March 4.

The City Board had their meeting on Monday and the Lions Club has their supper meeting on Thursday night.
